About us

In recent years wild fires and other extreme weather events have grown in frequency, affecting not only our local ecosystem but also the lives and property of many who call the Rockies home. We are a small but growing group of Coloradoans who, alarmed by these environmental events, have decided to try and help.

Our efforts are aimed along two main avenues. First, financial support for Colorado based environmental organizations. By way of direct contributions on this site as well as fundraising events within our local communities, we seek to support through donations, the men and women already fighting to mitigate the effects of these climate changes. Second, direct involvement. As the saying goes, "many hands make light work". Reforestation and forest maintenance are gargantuan tasks, who's success or failure depends on the number of people willing to get their hands dirty. We hope to organize several volunteer efforts under the advice and guidance of the Colorado State Forest Service and other subject matter experts as required.

We welcome all who wish to support, no matter how big or little that support may be. Here at the Lorax Initiative, we are driven by one word: unless.

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."- Dr. Suess
